The innovative battery could be used to power edible electronics for health diagnostics, food quality monitoring, and edible soft robotics.<\/p>\n<p><b><b>Edible Rechargeable Battery<\/b><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The proof-of-concept battery cell study was published in a <a href=\"https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/10.1002\/adma.202211400\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">paper<\/a> in the <i>Advanced Materials<\/i> journal in March. The research team took the basic components of a traditional battery and replaced them with materials commonly consumed in our daily diets. As Mario Caironi, a scientist who coordinated the project, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/business-and-innovation\/all-news\/article-739463\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">explained<\/a>, \u201cThe battery is made only from non-toxic and edible materials.
