Certainly not in the near term,\u201d Joyce said at an event hosted by the Center for Strategic and International Studies think tank. \u201cBut it will make the hackers that use AI much more effective, and they will operate better than those who don\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>U.S. officials consider mastery of AI critical to long-term international competitiveness \u2014 whether that\u2019s in defense, finance or another sector.
