According to <a href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/facebook-changes-name-meta\" class=\"\">Facebook-turned-Meta<\/a> CTO Andrew Bosworth, the company\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/the-byte\/metaverse-different-advertised\" class=\"\">metaverse of dead-eyed avatars<\/a> has been all but abandoned by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg \u2014 who, in an added blow, is instead said to be spending the bulk of his time chasing the investor-appeasing Silicon Valley squirrel that is generative AI.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve been investing in artificial intelligence for over a decade, and have one of the leading research institutes in the world,\u201d Bosworth <a href=\"https:\/\/asia.nikkei.com\/Business\/Technology\/Meta-to-debut-ad-creating-generative-AI-this-year-CTO-says\" class=\"\">told <em>Nikkei Asia<\/em><\/a> in an interview on Wednesday. \u201cWe certainly have a large research organization, hundreds of people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe just created a new team, the generative AI team, a couple of months ago; they are very busy,\u201d he added. \u201cIt\u2019s probably the area that I\u2019m spending the most time [in], as well as Mark Zuckerberg and [Chief Product Officer] Chris Cox.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Poor, poor, Horizon Worlds.
