On Tuesday, an Australian cultured meat start-up revealed a sphere of lab-grown meat, produced with a DNA sequence from the elephant-like mammal.<\/p>\n<p>But you won\u2019t find this product in grocery stores; the creation is not meant to be eaten, at least for now. Instead, the \u201cmammoth meatball\u201d aims to highlight the environmental impacts of standard agricultural practices and present cultured meat as a viable option for food production down the line.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe wanted to get people excited about the future of food being different to potentially what we had before,\u201d Tim Noakesmith, a co-founder of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mammothmeatball.com\/\">Vow<\/a>, the company behind the meatball, tells Mike Corder of the <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/oddities-mammoth-meatball-30e0731838f52cc18fb22d1faee1f8ce\">Associated Press<\/a> (AP). \u201cWe thought the mammoth would be a conversation starter. \u2026 What we wanted to do was see if we could create something that was a symbol of a more exciting future that\u2019s not only better for us, but also better for the planet.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u2661,\u2661!!!
