But an unknown number of asteroids have paths that might carry them toward us <em>from the sun\u2019s direction<\/em>. And it\u2019s tough \u2013 or impossible \u2013 to spot those asteroids coming toward us. ESA\u2019s planned <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esa.int\/Space_Safety\/Planetary_Defence\/NEOMIR_finding_risky_asteroids_outshone_by_Sun\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NEOMIR<\/a> mission will orbit between Earth and the sun at the first Lagrange point (<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lagrange_point\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">L1<\/a>).
