Within a week, it had more than a million users.<\/p>\n<p>ChatGPT\u2019s creator, OpenAI, is now reportedly in talks with investors to raise funds at a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/chatgpt-creator-openai-is-in-talks-for-tender-offer-that-would-value-it-at-29-billion-11672949279\" target=\"_blank\">$29 billion<\/a> valuation, including a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/technology\/microsoft-talks-invest-10-bln-chatgpt-owner-semafor-2023-01-10\/\" target=\"_blank\">potential<\/a> $10 billion investment by Microsoft. That would make OpenAI, which was founded in San Francisco in 2015 with the aim of building superintelligent machines, one of the world\u2019s most valuable AI companies.<\/p>\n<p>But the success story is not one of Silicon Valley genius alone.
