But it also makes understanding protein behavior and developing drugs that interact with proteins a challenge.<\/p>\n<p>While recent <a href=\"https:\/\/singularityhub.com\/tag\/artificial-intelligence\/\">AI breakthroughs<\/a> in the prediction (and <a href=\"https:\/\/singularityhub.com\/2023\/01\/03\/thanks-to-dall-e-the-race-to-make-artificial-protein-drugs-is-on\/\">even generation<\/a>) of protein structures are a <a href=\"https:\/\/singularityhub.com\/2020\/12\/15\/deepminds-alphafold-is-close-to-solving-one-of-biologys-greatest-challenges\/\">huge advance 50 years in the making<\/a>, they still only offer snapshots of proteins. To capture whole biological processes\u2014and identify which lead to diseases\u2014we need predictions of protein structures in multiple \u201cposes\u201d and, more importantly, how each of these poses changes a cell\u2019s inner functions.
