The system combines <a href=\"https:\/\/ai.googleblog.com\/2022\/04\/pathways-language-model-palm-scaling-to.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PaLM<\/a>, a large language model from Google, and a technique called Reinforcement Learning with Human Feedback \u2014 RLHF, for short \u2014 to create a system that can accomplish pretty much any task that ChatGPT can, including drafting emails and suggesting computer code.<\/p>\n<p>But PaLM + RLHF isn\u2019t pre-trained. That is to say, the system hasn\u2019t been trained on the example data from the web necessary for it to actually work.
