The company noted that in the coming weeks it will be rolling out this feature to select users that are part of the app\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/messages\/answer\/9131090?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">open beta program<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This comes after <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5google.com\/2022\/10\/28\/google-messages-rcs-group-chat-encryption\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a bunch of Redditors<\/a> noticed that Google was testing end-to-end encryption for group chats in October. The company\u2019s latest announcement makes it official.<\/p>\n<p>The search giant first started <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2020\/11\/19\/google-android-messages-encryption\/\">testing end-to-end encryption for individual RCS chats<\/a> in 2020.
