Rather than rally T cells against cancer, scientists have used different human immune cells called natural killer (NK) cells as a novel means to fight cancer, according to a study.<\/p>\n<p>The team of scientists at <a data-ga-href=\"https:\/\/m.economictimes.com\/topic\/albert-einstein-college-of-medicine\" target=\"_blank\">Albert Einstein College of Medicine<\/a> described findings that could boost the impact of immune-checkpoint therapy, the study said. Findings have been published in The <a data-ga-href=\"https:\/\/m.economictimes.com\/topic\/journal-of-clinical-investigation\" target=\"_blank\">Journal of Clinical Investigation<\/a> (JCI).<\/p>\n<p>Immune checkpoint inhibitors such as Keytruda and Opdivo work by unleashing the immune system\u2019s T cells to attack tumour cells.
