They are used in radiotherapy to estimate the amount of dose delivery and distribution. A customized phantom of a patient can make the whole process more precise.<\/p>\n<p><b>3D printing and cancer research<\/b><\/p>\n<p>As has been previously reported, 3D printing is being explored by researchers for use in <a href=\"https:\/\/3dprintingindustry.com\/news\/cancer-gets-kicked-3d-printed-radiotherapy-models-128390\/\">cancer treatment<\/a>. Earlier this year, <a href=\"https:\/\/3dprintingindustry.com\/news\/walter-reed-national-military-medical-center-adopts-adaptiivs-bolus-software-for-cancer-treatment-141987\/\">Adaptiiv Medical Technologies\u2019 3D printed bolus<\/a> was approved for radiation therapy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>face_with_colon_three circa 2018.
