Four species were designated as threats of the highest priority: <em>Aspergillus fumigatus<\/em>, a mold found abundantly in nature; <em>Candida albicans<\/em>, which is commonly found in the human body; <em>Candida auris<\/em>, a highly deadly yeast; and <em>Cryptococcus neoformans,<\/em> a fungus that can cause deadly brain infections.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFungal infections are growing, and are ever more resistant to treatments, becoming a public-health concern worldwide\u201d said Hanan Balkhy, the WHO\u2019s assistant director-general.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fungi is getting stronger globally even alerting the WHO due to its damage.
