Change is inexorable, but it can also be glacially slow. Converting the tech geeks and conspicuous consumers is easy, but getting the long tail of ordinary users to embrace the \u201cnew paradigm\u201d is fiendishly hard \u2014 and so, it is with <a href=\"https:\/\/venturebeat.com\/virtual\/creating-the-internet-we-deserve-the-case-for-web3\/\">Web3<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re living through a transitional time when the slow deprecation of one standard is being countered with the mainstreaming of another. To say that red pilling the masses on the wonders of <a href=\"https:\/\/venturebeat.com\/virtual\/web3-could-be-huge-how-it-handles-trust-and-identity-will-be-critical\/\">Web3<\/a> has been tough would be an understatement, however. At this stage, it cannot even be said for certain that Web3 <em>will<\/em> replace its numerical predecessor \u2014 rather, it is more of an <em>if<\/em>.
