Now they can be built big and customized with less effort.<\/p>\n<p>Bioscientists at Rice University have introduced centimeter-scale, slime-like colonies of engineered <a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/tags\/bacteria\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">bacteria<\/a> that self-assemble from the bottom up.
