{"id":144586,"date":"2022-08-22T15:22:33","date_gmt":"2022-08-22T20:22:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lifeboat.com\/blog\/2022\/08\/you-should-fear-super-stupidity-not-super-intelligence"},"modified":"2022-08-22T15:22:33","modified_gmt":"2022-08-22T20:22:33","slug":"you-should-fear-super-stupidity-not-super-intelligence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lifeboat.com\/blog\/2022\/08\/you-should-fear-super-stupidity-not-super-intelligence","title":{"rendered":"You should fear Super Stupidity, not Super Intelligence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"padding-right: 20px\"><a class=\"aligncenter blog-photo\" href=\"https:\/\/lifeboat.com\/blog.images\/you-should-fear-super-stupidity-not-super-intelligence2.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I have been invited to participate in a quite large event in which some experts and I (allow me to not consider myself one) will discuss about Artificial Intelligence, and, in particular, about the concept of <strong class=\"\">Super Intelligence<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It turns out I recently found out this really interesting TED talk by <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Grady_Booch\" rel=\"noopener ugc nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Grady Booch<\/a>, just in perfect timing to prepare my talk.<\/p>\n<p>No matter if you agree or disagree with Mr. Booch\u2019s point of view, it is clear that <strong class=\"\">today we are still living in the era of <\/strong><a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Weak_AI\" rel=\"noopener ugc nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><strong class=\"\">weak or narrow AI<\/strong><\/a>, <strong class=\"\">very far<\/strong> from <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Artificial_general_intelligence\" rel=\"noopener ugc nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">general AI<\/a>, and even more <strong class=\"\">from a potential Super Intelligence<\/strong>. Still, <strong class=\"\">Machine Learning bring us with a great opportunity as of today<\/strong>. <strong class=\"\">The opportunity to put algorithms to work together with humans to solve some of our biggest <\/strong><a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/sustainabledevelopment.un.org\/sdgs\" rel=\"noopener ugc nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><strong class=\"\">challenges<\/strong><\/a>: climate change, poverty, health and well being, etc.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have been invited to participate in a quite large event in which some experts and I (allow me to not consider myself one) will discuss about Artificial Intelligence, and, in particular, about the concept of Super Intelligence.
