For example, a stone will move more slowly through molasses than water, and more slowly through water than through air.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Scientists have discovered a new way that <a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/tags\/resistivity\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">resistivity<\/a> can cause instabilities in the <a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/tags\/plasma\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">plasma<\/a> edge, where temperatures and pressures rise sharply.
