Seppala<\/strong><\/a><\/span> \u2014 Endgadget<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>It might not <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Stradivarius\" target=\"_blank\">be a Stradivarius<\/a>, but the violin you see above is pretty impressive on its own merits. For starters, it\u2019s 3D printed and only has two strings. And that\u2019s to say nothing of its appearance; this thing looks like it\u2019d be right at home on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2013\/03\/20\/mass-effect-3s-citadel-dlc-demonstrates-the-franchises-messy\/\">The Citadel in <em>Mass Effect<\/em><\/a>. The Piezoelectric Violin (as it\u2019s officially called), was concepted by a pair of architects <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.com\/culture\/story\/20150330-the-weirdest-musical-instruments\" target=\"_blank\">who tell <em>BBC<\/em><\/a> that the impetus for its creation was realizing that the challenges of their day jobs aren\u2019t all that different from those faced by composers and musicians. It\u2019s still playable by \u201canyone\u201d too, despite its <em>wild<\/em> looks. One of its designers tells <em>BBC <\/em>that the difference between how it and a traditional violin sounds is akin to that of a classical guitar versus an electric <a href=\"http:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2015\/02\/11\/1954-gibson-les-paul-prototype-auction\/\">Gibson Les Paul<\/a>.
