Researchers are exploring a new way of using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/video\/new-tech-could-help-clean-indoor-air-to-lower-risk-of-covid-19\/\" target=\"_blank\">ultraviolet light<\/a> to make indoor air safer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been known for 80 years or so that ultraviolet light can kill bacteria and inactivate viruses in the air so that they\u2019re no longer infectious,\u201d Don K. Milton, professor of occupational and environmental health at the University of Maryland School of Public Health, told CBS News.<\/p>\n<p>Conventional UV-C light has been used extensively in places like hospitals, homeless shelters and prisons.
