Virtual reality (VR) headsets like the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oculus.com\/\">Oculus Rift<\/a> fascinated and delighted festival-goers, with promises of changing the very landscapes of film, travel, journalism, and of course gaming\u2014where VR\u2019s journey into mainstream discourse began with the Oculus\u2019 2012 Kickstarter.<\/p>\n<p>But there\u2019s another area that the Oculus Rift\u2014or whatever immersive VR headset gets commercialized first\u2014is likely to enter: The courtroom. (And no, we don\u2019t mean the current <a href=\"http:\/\/mashable.com\/2014\/05\/21\/oculus-vr-sued-by-zenimax-for-intellectual-property-theft\/\">patent lawsuit<\/a> against the Oculus Rift\u2019s makers.)
