Principal investigator <a href=\"https:\/\/faculty.mdanderson.org\/profiles\/timothy_yap.html\" target=\"_blank\">Timothy Yap, M.B.B.S., Ph.D.<\/a>, associate professor of Investigational Cancer Therapeutics, today presented new data from the trials at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aacr.org\/meeting\/aacr-annual-meeting-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\">American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting 2022<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDDR orchestrates a complex network of mechanisms that detects and repairs damage to DNA, such as double strand breaks and replication stress,\u201d Yap explained. \u201cHowever, when DDR defects occur, it promotes uncontrolled cancer cell growth and enables cells to evade apoptosis.
