They\u2019ve also found evidence of water \u2014 either in the form of ice or bound to minerals in the soil \u2014 deep underground closer to the Red Planet\u2019s equator.<\/p>\n<p>What they <em>really<\/em> want, though, is near-surface water closer to the equator.
