Not only did it live to tell the tale \u2013 proving the efficacy of Parker\u2019s high-tech heat shielding \u2013 it took in situ measurements, giving us a wealth of never-before-seen data on the heart of our Solar System.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cParker Solar Probe \u2018touching the Sun\u2019 is a monumental moment for solar science and a truly remarkable feat,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/feature\/goddard\/2021\/nasa-enters-the-solar-atmosphere-for-the-first-time-bringing-new-discoveries\">said astrophysicist Thomas Zurbuchen<\/a>, associate administrator for the Science Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are in the golden age of science and technology.
