However, SpaceFlight Insider <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spaceflightinsider.com\/space-centers\/marshall-space-flight-center\/nasa-leadership-visits-marshall-space-flight-center\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>previously reported<\/strong><\/a> that the rollout may be delayed. On Dec. 7, 2021, while speaking at the Michoud Assembly Facility (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/centers\/marshall\/michoud\/index.html\">MAF<\/a>), NASA Administrator Bill Nelson confirmed the delay by stating, It\u2019s going to have it\u2019s rollout to the pad in January.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, other news outlets have reported on an issue that may be driving the delay \u2014 a problem with with the engine controller on one, of four, core stage <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/exploration\/systems\/sls\/fs\/rs25_core_stage_engines.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>RS-25<\/strong><\/a> engines.<\/p>\n<p>The Artemis I RS-25\u2019s are previously-flown Space Shuttle Main Engines (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/returntoflight\/system\/system_SSME.html\">SSME<\/a>\u2019s).
