So much so that I\u2019m beginning to think it\u2019s having a negative impact on my social life, but we\u2019ll save that for another time\u2026 The point is that I read a LOT. And for the past seven years, I\u2019ve been stuck on one genre: Science Fiction. From space operas and apocalyptic disasters, to robot revolts and galaxy-spanning quests \u2014 I\u2019m down for it all.<\/p>\n<p>The best sci fi authors can n o t only see how innovation might progress, but how humanity might evolve as a result. For a genre so heavily focused on science and technology, it\u2019s surprisingly human.<\/p>\n<p>So I get really excited when I see a headline like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.technologyreview.com\/2021\/09\/04\/1034364\/altos-labs-silicon-valleys-jeff-bezos-milner-bet-living-forever\/\" class=\"\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener ugc nofollow\"><em class=\"\">Meet Altos Labs, Silicon Valley\u2019s Latest Wild Bet on Living Forever<\/em><\/a>. It makes me feel like I\u2019m living in the future. The rate of scientific advancement over the past 50 years has been increasingly mind boggling and it\u2019s impossible to keep up with all the discoveries. First CRISPR, then private space travel, now immortality? It\u2019s insane. Completely terrifying. And I love it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am a huge fan of reading.
