There\u2019s just one problem \u2013 they\u2019re so far away, with conventional spaceflight it would take tens of thousands of years to reach <a href=\"https:\/\/www.livescience.com\/our-closest-neighbouring-star-has-a-planet-in-the-habitable-zone\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">even the closest one<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Physicists are not the kind of people who give up easily, though. Give them an impossible dream, and they\u2019ll give you an incredible, hypothetical way of making it a reality. Maybe.<\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/iopscience.iop.org\/article\/10.1088\/1361-6382\/abe692\">new study<\/a> by physicist Erik Lentz from G\u00f6ttingen University in Germany, we may have a viable solution to the dilemma, and it\u2019s one that could turn out to be more feasible than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.livescience.com\/how-feasible-is-a-warp-drive-here-s-the-science\">other would-be warp drives<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For decades, we\u2019ve dreamed of visiting other star systems.
