How could they be captured? If they\u2019re captured, what happens to them? How many of them might be in our Solar System?<\/p>\n<p>One team of researchers is trying to find answers.<\/p>\n<p>We know of two ISOs for certain: \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/solarsystem.nasa.gov\/asteroids-comets-and-meteors\/comets\/oumuamua\/in-depth\/\">Oumuamua<\/a> and comet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/feature\/interstellar-comet-borisov-reveals-its-chemistry-and-possible-origins\">2I\/Borisov<\/a>. There must\u2019ve been others, probably many of them. But we\u2019ve only recently gained the technology to see them. We\u2019ll likely discover many more of them soon, thanks to new facilities like the Vera C.
