They will house Intel\u2019s most advanced chipmaking technology and play a central role in the Santa Clara, California-based company\u2019s effort to regain its lead in making the smallest, fastest chips by 2,025 after having fallen behind rival Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co Ltd <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/companies\/2330.TW\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">(2330.TW)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The new Arizona plants will also be the first Intel has built from the ground up with space reserved for outside customers.
