While they have achieved feats such as directing the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gizmag.com\/university-minnesota-mind-control-uav\/27798\/\" target=\"_blank\">flight of a quadcopter<\/a> and helping victims of paralysis to communicate, sufferers of brainstem stroke with \u201clocked-in\u201d syndrome have so far been beyond reach.
