It\u2019s an odd idea, but as the body of evidence <a href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/neoscope\/psychedelic-mushrooms-effective-antidepressants\" class=\"\">continues to grow<\/a> that psilocybin \u2014 the active ingredient in shrooms \u2014 may have <a href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/neoscope\/woman-sell-psychedelic-drugs-scientists\" class=\"\">myriad mental health benefits<\/a>, it may be an odd idea worth considering.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnder carefully controlled conditions, our astronauts [being] able to take psilocybin in space and look at the universe and not feel distant and alone but feel like they\u2019re part of this giant consciousness will give them a better frame of mind \u2014 psychologically, emotionally \u2014 to work with other astronauts and stay on mission,\u201d Stamets told the magazine. \u201cI feel that isolation, loneliness, and depression are going to be major issues that astronauts face.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Do you agree?
