But this time it has less to do with creating superhuman assassins and more to do with quelling <a class href=\"https:\/\/www.inverse.com\/mind-body\/what-the-nba-bubble-taught-scientists-about-jet-lag\">jet lag<\/a> and <a class href=\"https:\/\/www.inverse.com\/article\/33005-diarrhea-is-good-for-you\">diarrhea<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In May, researchers from Northwestern University signed a $33 million dollar contract with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (<a class href=\"https:\/\/www.inverse.com\/article\/12943-darpa-s-hacking-the-peripheral-nervous-system-to-train-american-spies\">DARPA<\/a>) to develop a wireless implantable device that will function as a \u201cliving pharmacy\u201d for military personnel.
