Recently, for example, Google\u2019s artificial intelligence subsidiary <a href=\"https:\/\/deepmind.com\/blog\/alphafold\/\">DeepMind developed AlphaFold2<\/a>, a program which solved the <a href=\"https:\/\/theconversation.com\/ai-makes-huge-progress-predicting-how-proteins-fold-one-of-biologys-greatest-challenges-promising-rapid-drug-development-151181\">protein-folding problem<\/a>. This is a problem which has had baffled scientists for 50 years.<\/p>\n<p>Advances in AI have allowed us to make progress in all kinds of disciplines \u2013 and these are not limited to applications on this planet.
