Today I\u2019ll talk about another faster-than-light trick: <a href=\"https:\/\/briankoberlein.com\/post\/still-alive\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">wormholes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Wormholes are an old idea in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencealert.com\/general-relativity\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"general relativity\">general relativity<\/a>. It\u2019s based on work by Albert Einstein and Nathan Rosen, who tried to figure out how elementary particles might behave in curved spacetime. Their idea treated particle-antiparticle pairs as two ends of a spacetime tube.<\/p>\n<p>This Einstein-Rosen Bridge would look like a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencealert.com\/black-holes\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"black hole\">black hole<\/a> on one end, and an anti-black hole, or <a href=\"https:\/\/briankoberlein.com\/blog\/in-the-hole\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">white hole<\/a>, on the other end.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In my last post, I talked about the idea of warp drive and whether it might one day be possible.
