But Theia 456 is special.<\/p>\n<p>A stellar stream is a rare linear pattern\u2014rather than a cluster\u2014of stars. After combining multiple datasets captured by the Gaia space telescope, a team of astrophysicists found that all of Theia 456\u2019s 468 stars were born at the same time and are traveling in the same direction across the sky.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost stellar clusters are formed together,\u201d said Jeff Andrews, a Northwestern University astrophysicist and member of the team. \u201cWhat\u2019s exciting about Theia 456 is that it\u2019s not a small clump of stars together. It\u2019s long and stretched out.
