Already, sales of electric cars and other new energy vehicles <a href=\"http:\/\/www.caam.org.cn\/chn\/1\/cate_3\/con_5232124.html\" target=\"_blank\">hit a record in September<\/a> in China. Even Tesla launched a factory there last year, and is planning to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-tesla-china-exports\/tesla-to-export-china-made-model-3-vehicles-to-europe-idUSKBN2741HW\" target=\"_blank\">sell made-in-China cars to Europe.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Powering it all are electric batteries \u2013 of which two Chinese companies, Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/?symbol=ZE594-CN\">BYD<\/a>, account for about a third of the global market, according to UBS.
