The preproduction MPF vehicles will be put through their paces by paratroopers from the Army\u2019s 82 Airborne.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are incredibly excited to see the MPF platform entering into this phase,\u201d an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.19fortyfive.com\/2020\/12\/smith-and-wessons-mp-m2-0-pistol-why-the-army-passed\/\">Army<\/a> Ground Combat Systems official stated, explaining that the \u201cMPF represents an innovative and aggressive approach to system acquisition. The beginning of our SVA (soldier vehicle assessment) in January illustrates how hard the teams are working to keep the major events of this program on schedule,\u201d despite the ongoing pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>The Army awarded two initial prototyping contracts to both BAE Systems and General Dynamics back <a href=\"https:\/\/www.army.mil\/article\/215264\/armys_mpf_program_awards_rapid_prototyping_contracts\"> in 2018<\/a>.
