Jared Polis said the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/sections\/health-shots\/2020\/11\/17\/935563377\/why-does-pfizers-covid-19-vaccine-need-to-be-kept-colder-than-antarctica\">Pfizer vaccine<\/a> would be made available first, followed a few weeks later by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/sections\/health-shots\/2020\/11\/16\/935239294\/modernas-covid-19-vaccine-shines-in-clinical-trial\">Moderna vaccine<\/a>. Both vaccines require two doses with 30 days in between.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are only hopefully a week away from the first highly effective vaccine arriving at our state,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd I would encourage anybody just to look at the data on the efficacy of this vaccine \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/sections\/health-shots\/2020\/11\/09\/933006651\/pfizer-says-experimental-covid-19-vaccine-is-more-than-90-effective\">90 percent<\/a>, 94 percent, there\u2019s two of them.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At-risk Coloradans might get the first doses of a COVID-19 vaccine as soon as next week.
