Last week the company announced new work focused on advancing what it calls \u201cembodied AI\u201d: basically, a smart <a href=\"https:\/\/singularityhub.com\/tag\/robotics\/\">robot<\/a> that will be able to move around your house to help you remember things, find things, and maybe even do things.<\/p>\n<p><b>Robots That Hear, Home Assistants That See<\/b><\/p>\n<p>In Facebook\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/ai.facebook.com\/blog\/new-milestones-in-embodied-ai\/\">blog post<\/a> about audio-visual navigation for embodied AI, the authors point out that most of today\u2019s robots are \u201cdeaf\u201d; they move through spaces based purely on visual perception.
