But we have much smaller reserves of brown fat cells, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newscientist.com\/article\/mg20327211-200-the-fat-that-makes-you-thin\/\">burn energy as well as storing it<\/a>. People typically lose brown fat as they age or put on weight.
