Ultimately, their research was published in <i>Physical Review C<\/i>, a leading <a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/tags\/academic+journal\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">academic journal<\/a> focused on nuclear <a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/tags\/physics\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">physics<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It spawned a wave of follow up research that in 2006 confirmed their prediction was true.
