In the latest example, physicists have developed and demonstrated a \u201cquantum radar\u201d prototype that uses the quantum entanglement phenomenon to detect objects, a system which could eventually outperform conventional radar in some circumstances.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/newatlas.com\/first-ever-image-quantum-entanglement\/60574\/\">Quantum entanglement<\/a> describes the bizarre state where two particles can become linked so tightly that they seem to communicate instantly, no matter how far apart they are. Measuring the state of one particle will instantly change the state of the other, hypothetically even if it\u2019s on the other side of the universe. That implies that the information is moving <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/newatlas.com\/quantum-entanglement-speed-10000-faster-light\/26587\/\">faster than the speed of light<\/a>, which is thought to be impossible \u2013 and yet, it\u2019s clearly and measurably happening. The phenomenon even unnerved Einstein himself, who famously described it as \u201cspooky action at a distance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While we still don\u2019t entirely understand why or how it works, that\u2019s not stopping scientists figuring out ways to use it to our advantage. Strides are being made towards creating <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/newatlas.com\/quantum-computing\/quantum-teleportation-computer-chips\/\">quantum computers<\/a> and a <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/newatlas.com\/on-demand-quantum-entanglement\/55034\/\">quantum internet<\/a>, both of which would be super fast and <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/newatlas.com\/micius-quantum-internet-encryption\/53102\/\">nigh-unhackable<\/a>.
