And this time it\u2019s personal.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, some 30 members of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencemag.org\/news\/2019\/04\/jason-advisory-group-prepares-shut-down-us-contract-extension-seems-unlikely\">Jason<\/a> began to tackle the thorny question of how to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencemag.org\/news\/2020\/05\/it-will-not-be-easy-labs-begin-reopen-enormous-challenges-remain\">reopen university laboratories safely<\/a> in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. Nobody is paying for the study, a rare departure for the group, whose work is usually financed by government agencies and often involves classified information.
