NASA scientists have even suggested that the object <a href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/the-byte\/interstellar-object-alien-water\">may hold water<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Now, a new study by an international team of researchers led by NASA has revealed something highly unusual: gas emanating from the comet contained unusually high amounts of carbon monoxide \u2014 up to 26 times higher than that of the average comet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is the first time we\u2019ve ever looked inside a comet from outside our solar system and it is dramatically different from most other comets we\u2019ve seen before,\u201d Martin Cordiner, astrochemist at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and lead author of the study published in the journal <em>Nature Astronomy <\/em>said in <a href=\"https:\/\/public.nrao.edu\/news\/alma-reveals-unusual-composition-of-interstellar-comet-2i-borisov\/\">a statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We have seen before\ud83e\udd14\ud83e\udd14.
