So why isn\u2019t there one yet for Bitcoin?<\/h2>\n<p>Despite the <a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/2014\/02\/28\/investing\/mt-gox-bankruptcy\/index.html?iid=EL\" target=\"_blank\">collapse of Bitcoin exchange Mt. Gox<\/a>, digital currencies are one of the fastest growing, disruptive technologies of the past several decades.<\/p>\n<div id=\"ie_column\"><\/div>\n<p>But the only places in the United States that are speaking up about Bitcoin are those who want to add additional layers of regulations and red tape.<br \/> Remarkably, it\u2019s the two states that would benefit most from this innovation and from greater adoption of Bitcoin: the nation\u2019s financial center (New York) and the hub of innovation (California).<\/p>\n<p>New York\u2019s top financial cop, <a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/2014\/02\/12\/technology\/bitcoin-regulation\/index.html?iid=EL\" target=\"_blank\">Benjamin Lawsky<\/a>, has railed against Bitcoin because of concerns about usage by criminals.
