Findings from the new study\u2014published recently in <em>ACS Omega<\/em> through an article titled \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/pubs.acs.org\/doi\/full\/10.1021\/acsomega.9b02127\">Chemical Genomic Profiling Unveils the in vitro and in vivo Antiplasmodial Mechanism of A\u00e7a\u0131\u0301 (<em>Euterpe oleracea<\/em> Mart.) Polyphenols<\/a>\u201d\u2014showed that berry extracts can reduce parasites in the blood and prolong the survival of infected mice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWidespread drug-resistant parasite strains push for the development of novel antimalarial drugs,\u201d the authors wrote. \u201cPlant-derived natural products are key sources of antimalarial molecules. <em>Euterpe oleracea<\/em> Martius (\u201ca\u00e7a\u0131\u0301\u201d) originates from Brazil and has anti-inflammatory and antineoplastic properties.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Researchers have found that a\u04aba\u00ed berry extracts can reduce parasites in the blood and prolong the survival of infected mice.
