Ray Kurzweil: Will Technology End the Nation State?

Posted by in categories: finance, Ray Kurzweil

Ray Kurzweil is an inventor, thinker, and futurist famous for forecasting the pace of technology and predicting the world of tomorrow. In this video, Kurzweil takes a look at the elementary particle of the classical world order, the nation state. Today, news, culture, and financial transactions cross borders in an instant. As technology makes borders less and less relevant, will we witness the end of the nation state as we’ve known it?

Elon Musk Just Published His Plan to Colonize Mars

Posted by in categories: alien life, Elon Musk, habitats

They say everything’s sweeter the second time around, and that seems to be the case for SpaceX’s plans to colonize Mars. Last year, Musk unveiled his plans to colonize the Red Planet and make it fit for human habitation. Now, that version of the plan has been published and made available for free— with a few notable updates.

In the paper, the focus is on affordability, as that is the primary factor in making life on Mars a reality. As Musk notes, “You cannot create a self-sustaining civilization if the ticket price is $10 billion per person.” In order for it to be viable, Musk asserts that the cost should be about $200,000—equivalent to the median price of a house in the United States. In the paper, Musk outlines the steps he considers essential to ensuring this relative affordability.

But this is just the beginning. Musk posted a tweet today hinting that this version one is already being reviewed…and version 2 is on its way.

Head Transplant Doctor Reports Successful Repair of Spinal Cord in Rats

Posted by in category: biotech/medical

A head transplant doctor claims to have made advance toward realizing the medical procedure, but the scientific community remains skeptical. The team claims to have used a proprietary “glue” to repair the severed spines of rats and achieved full recovery.

Sergio Canavero, a man who has made the goal of his life’s work to transplant a human head onto a donor body, is claiming a success. He and his team have reported seemingly positive results from a technique called the Gemini Protocol. They used the protocol to repair severed spinal cords in rats, and their findings indicate that their methodology works “across the board.”

Japan Is Designing An Invisible Train To Be Launched By 2018

Posted by in categories: innovation, transportation

This extraordinary train is designed by train Kazuyo Sejima, who was recently awarded Pritzker Prize, which is given as a Nobel Prize of architecture. Sejima is an architect from a Japanese company Sanaa. He claimed that without a doubt the train will be not totally unseen but it will be super-reflective. It seems to be partially invisible because of its pure mirrored shell. This task was very challenging for the architects as well as for the engineers. After this successful mission, they have concluded that this design can be put on to the active trains as well.

Sejima has got authorization from the Seibu Railway Co, that for celebrating its 100th anniversary of Red Arrow express commuter train, they have to remodel the outer surface and inside of it. The invisible train is likely to be launched in 2018 and this express will travel over 178 km (111 miles) all over Japan. In an interview held last week, Sejima said “The limited express travels will pass through beautiful panorama like mountains of Chichibu. This will be a great reason for the passengers to travel on this train.”

The whole news about the partially invisible train is not revealed by the inventors but Dezeen magazine has published that its outer surface will have semi-transparent and mirrored panels, and its boxy shape created into a silver bullet. We already came through extraordinary bullet train designed by Japan and now this semi-transparent train seems really exciting. This will be the latest invention which we have not come through till now.
