This is all thanks to automation and robotics, which is bringing in the age of unmanned warfare — towards a world where men won’t sacrifice their lives on the battlefield. And that’s why, a Singapore-based aviation company has unveiled the world’s first supersonic unmanned aircraft.

Reported first by DailyMail, this UAV drone (which has been named ‘Arrow’) is developed by Singapore-based Kelley Aerospace. The aircraft can touch speeds up to Mach 2.1 — more than twice the speed of sound.

The supersonic aircraft is roughly 16.8 tons in weight, but its carbon fibre monocoque design that it possesses helps it to sport strength and stiffness, as per the company’s claims. Its body is also equipped with a reduced radar cross-section and infrared signature to make sure it doesn’t grab the attention of the enemies.

The European Union has long been a trendsetter in privacy regulation. Its General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and stringent antitrust laws have inspired new legislation around the world. For decades, the EU has codified protections on personal data and fought against what it viewed as commercial exploitation of private information, proudly positioning its regulations in contrast to the light-touch privacy policies in the United States.

The new European data governance strategy (pdf) takes a fundamentally different approach. With it, the EU will become an active player in facilitating the use and monetization of its citizens’ personal data. Unveiled by the European Commission in February 2020, the strategy outlines policy measures and investments to be rolled out in the next five years.

This new strategy represents a radical shift in the EU’s focus, from protecting individual privacy to promoting data sharing as a civic duty. Specifically, it will create a pan-European market for personal data through a mechanism called a data trust. A data trust is a steward that manages people’s data on their behalf and has fiduciary duties toward its clients.

The NYPD deployed its new robotic dog to a home invasion crime scene in the Bronx on Tuesday morning, new video shows.

Video shows the blue and black, four-legged “Digidog” trotting along the sidewalk, joined by its handlers.

The videographer, Daniel Valls of FreedomNews.tv, wrote that the dog responded to a home invasion and barricaded situation on East 227th Street near White Plains Road in Wakefield.

Echoing world-domineering robots’ use of enslaved humans in the 1999 cyberpunk movie, U.S. researchers at the University of Colorado Boulder have created an environmentally-friendly gadget that harvests body heat and converts it into energy.

Tech-lovers could power their own watches or fitness trackers by wearing a stretchy ring or bracelet containing thermoelectric chips that convert heat into electrical energy, according to research published in the journal Science Advances.

The company estimates that more than 65% of employees will adopt the new system.

“As you surely know, there is a lot of emotion in this on both sides of the argument, making it as much political as it is legal,” said attorney Henry Hertzfeld of the DARPA plans.
